We typical stop at Clear Lake, but the entire park is real nice. The town is nice but there are also some good mountain bike and hiking trails in the area.

We've been to Riding Mountain National Park a few times. All those times, we just stayed in Wasagaming in cabins or picnic areas and did some water activities. This time we actually entered from the north gate coming from Dauphin. This gave us the opportunity to enjoy more scenery and see Moon Lake which was a nice stop. And actually, the view from the north made me understand more why they call it a "Mountain". We were thinking of doing some of the roadside hikes but we weren't really prepared and didn't research. So, with the advice from the visitor centre, we ended up going to the Ominnik Marsh Trail. From there, rather than looping back, we continued on to the South Lake Trail, then back to town. Doing that allowed us experience a variety of landscapes by walking through a marsh, forest and the lakeside plus the other areas of the town.

Great place to camp and relax. There are also several very good places to eat if you dont want to cook in your campsite. I recomend the white house if you want fresh baking and a good breakfast.Get there early as they sell out early for the cinnamon rolls. There is also a wide variety of activities for children to keep them busy. There are also 3 good golf courses in the area. The campground is patrolled and is quiet at night. Book the full service lots early as to not be disappointed as they fill up fast.

We visited the Lake Audy Bison Enclosure but unfortunately, the Bison were nowhere to be found.

The beach is not the best but the lake is big enough for boats, jet ski, other water sports.

I don't know why I took so long to discover this place, I know it's many hours from Winnipeg but I will definitely be making an effort and booking longer holidays to take advantage of the wilderness in this area. My kids had a wonderful time, we can't wait to go back
